Bill Curry – Fine Art Conservation Photographer
I am a Fine Art Conservation Photographer. I take photographs because I love the outdoors and I want to share with others images of the outdoors that capture the environment, those who live in that environment, and how the environment shapes and is shaped by the lives of those living in it. Images that either remind people of the outdoors, or help to inform people about our shared habitat.
I do this, and have been doing this professionally for 40 years, using my camera system, now mainly digital, and relying on my technique which is to photograph without depending heavily on post processing. I attempt instead to get the best photograph I can which reflects the reality of the moment. My technique is ingrained in me through a lifelong use of the Zone system of photography, mastered by Ansel Adams, which I learned when I was very, very young. My first photos were of nature when I was a pre-teen and used a film camera and I processed the black and white images myself in a wet darkroom. I still personally produce each image using Epson professional quality papers or canvas created on Epson professional printers that use dye and pigment inks. I then mount each photograph on museum quality mattes and archival backs. This process assures that your finished photograph will last for a very, very long time – every photograph I sell is guaranteed for the life of the original purchaser – this guarantee is in writing on the back of every print.
I now live in Port Maitland, Nova Scotia, Canada on a 48 acre piece of land that has been owned by the family off and on for over 200 years. Our home overlooks the Bay of Fundy, and our property provides much to photograph, especially the marshes, inlets and water that still so fascinate me. My wife, Norma and my dog Finnegan and I enjoy long walks on our beach, but we also spend a lot of time exploring and traveling – to wherever we can. As Thoreau might have said, there’s a lot to see.

Membership fees are now due. If you have not yet paid or made arrangements please bring to meeting.
Your club is only as strong as its members and your participation. As a club we endeavor to meet the needs of the members and respectfully request that you complete the membership survey. Yes, it is lengthy, but it will help us meet you needs as members. If you won’t do it for yourself, please do it for the Lunenburg Photo Club.
Consider bringing a friend to a meeting to introduce them to our club. No time like the present with our line up of great speakers.
We still need volunteers for the social component. We have 42 members, we meet 12 times a year, we only need 24 volunteers a year. Lets share the operation of the club amongst all members.
In planning events we ask that you RSVP (advise whether you can or cannot attend/participate ). This provides the Club to reschedule or cancel due to lack of interest or conflicts in schedules.
Member Images nights are for all members. Show us your work. There is not a reason to not bring and show your images.
